Evie Networks and ActewAGL have launched five new public electric vehicle (EV) chargers in Canberra, marking the first chargers to be installed with support from the ACT Government’s Electric Vehicle Charging Infrastructure Grant Funding Program.
With ActewAGL as its energy partner, Evie Networks is providing the ACT with access to the most reliable EV chargers, currently achieving an availability rate of 97 per cent.
Between Evie Networks and ActewAGL, there will be 35 new or upgraded EV chargers, consisting of both AC destination and DC fast chargers, to meet a variety of public charging speed and location needs.
The new EV chargers are available for public use in Dickson, Tuggeranong and Woden and can be accessed via the Evie Networks charging app.
The chargers are projected to become even more reliable and accessible through planned upgrades.

Our partnership with Evie Networks will provide an extensive and reliable fast charging network, powered by clean energy, to give drivers even more incentive to make the switch.
“We collaborate closely with the local community and commercial landowners when selecting locations for EV public chargers and are continuing to evaluate sites for new public charging installations.”
The chargers in Tuggeranong and Woden are hosted in Canberra Southern Cross Club car parks. The 22kW dual port wall-mounted EV chargers will support simultaneous charging for four electric vehicles at each site.
To meet anticipated demand, Evie Networks and ActewAGL is scaling up public charging installation, to future-proof the ACT’s essential EV charging infrastructure.
In addition to delivering a range of solutions in Canberra and across the Capital Region, Evie Networks is also ensuring existing solutions can accommodate interstate travel. Due to significant demand, Evie Networks recently upgraded its ultra-fast Sutton Forrest site, less than six months after it went live.
How about a few fast chargers north of the lake Canberra (ie 50kw+)? You are supposed to be leading the nation, but it’s difficult for visitors to charge their EVs.
