Energy Networks Australia has announced the shortlist of finalists for the 2023 Innovation Awards, which recognise organisations leading the industry in the design, development and application of energy networks initiatives and technology.
Energy Networks Australia CEO, Dom van den Berg said the submissions this year were of a particularly high calibre.
“The awards highlight the groundbreaking initiatives, technology or solutions implemented by Australian energy networks. It is pleasing to see networks implementing innovative solutions across their networks,” Mr van den Burg said.
“Network businesses across Australia are adopting new and greener technologies such as flexible exports, virtual power plants and stand-alone power systems to ensure they are delivering clean, reliable, affordable power to customers.
“Networks are also taking a more customer centric approach to innovation and are engaging closely with a wide range of stakeholders to ensure customers are taken on the journey to net zero.
“Distributed energy resources that are displayed in the shortlist gives customers greater choice about how to manage their energy use while at the same time helps networks decarbonise.”
The 2023 Innovation Awards shortlisted finalists are:
- SA Power Networks, Flexible Exports
- Ausgrid, Project Edith
- Essential Energy, Cutlers Cottage Hydrogen Stand Alone Power System
The winner of the 2023 Innovation Award will be announced at the Energy Networks Australia Annual Dinner in September.
